Alizeti recruits former News UK marketing exec
Barry Sage links up with former Sun Bets MD Jamie Hart as part of Alizeti’s Tote product team
Former News UK marketing director Barry Sage has joined Alizeti, the investment group with a 25% stake in the Tote.
Sage has assumed the role of product owner at Alizeti and will report into former Sun Bets MD Jamie Hart, who he worked with whilst at News UK.
Hart was made head of product at Alizeti when the consortium put together a substantial executive team in September, including former Sportech CEO Ian Penrose as strategic and operational advisor.
Sage spent more than five years at News UK overseeing the group’s Sun Bingo and Dream Team brands but left in February 2018 for a nine-month stint at affiliate giant Catena Media.
Sage, who has also worked for William Hill and Ladbrokes, told EGR Intel: “I am delighted to be joining Alizeti at what is such an important time to the Tote.
“I look forward to being part of the ambitious plans to develop the Tote and ensure it fulfils its potential of providing a unique and exciting betting experience for customers,” he added.
In October, Alizeti and Britbet agreed a “landmark” seven-year deal that will see the two bodies run a combined pool betting operation in the UK.
