Michal Hanák rejoins Fortuna as chief sportsbook officer
Hanák joins firm for a second spell after leaving in 2012 as Fortuna also appoints a new CEO for its Slovakia subsidiary
Fortuna Entertainment Group has named Michal Hanák as its chief sportsbook officer to replace the outgoing OndÅej VÃch, amid a number of senior departures from the operator.
Hanák joins the Eastern European powerhouse from Slovakian sports betting operator Niké, where he held the role of director of strategy for two years, having previously worked for Fortuna between 2006 and 2012.
“I am very glad that I can welcome Michal Hanák to our team,” Per Widerstrom, CEO of Fortuna Entertainment Group, said.
“He is a highly experienced and creative professional and he will be an important addition for development of existing products as well as for development and implementation of new business,” he added.
Incumbent VÃch is set to leave Fortuna on 31 August, while the company has also announced Marek Biely has vacated his position as CEO of the company’s Slovakia subsidiary Fortuna SK.
Andrej Sokol has been appointed as Fortuna SK’s new CEO following a four-year stint as the operator’s financial director.
The news follows the recent appointment of Paddy Power’s former head of online sportsbook Darren Lovern as Fortuna’s new chief marketing officer.
