Partypoker signs Boris Becker as brand ambassador
Former Tennis pro and Wimbledon champion is the latest ambassador to join the GVC-owned poker brand
GVC Holdings-owned partypoker has signed up former professional tennis player Boris Becker to become its new brand ambassador, it was announced this week.
The German tennis legend and six-time major singles winner will be joined by poker professional Jan Jachtmann, who has more than $1.5m in live career earnings, as a sponsored pro.
“It’s great to have Boris on board as he is one of Germany’s, and indeed the world’s, most notable sportsmen,” Tom Waters, group head of partypoker, said.
“Boris’ mental strength and desire to win will make him a tough competitor at the poker table, and I’m sure he’ll test our players as part of the partypoker Tennis Missions promotion.
“We look to expand our poker offering in Germany for 2017 and I am thrilled that Boris will be our ambassador in this market.”
To coincide with Boris Becker joining the partypoker ranks, the poker brand has launched a special tennis-themed promotion called Beat The Ace.
The promotion gives players the chance to play in four $5,000 freerolls with the overall winner playing Boris live.
