A quickfire Q&A with Pinnacle Sports' affiliate programme manager
Q: Describe what it is like to work for Pinnacle Sports in three words.
A: Inspirational, entrepreneurial and collaborative.
Q: What makes Pinnacle Sports a great partner for affiliates?
A: We give our customers the greatest possible sports betting odds by operating very low margins and taking a high volume of bets across all major sports. This means that Pinnacle Sports offers the best value to all our customers (while accepting high stakes and always welcoming winners, unlike some other books) which ensures our retention is incredibly high. Ultimately we deliver exceptional average player values for our affiliates in the long term.
Q: What makes a good affiliate manager?
A: In my opinion a good affiliate manager is constantly striving to ensure that each and every affiliate is able to grow their revenue through the application of a great product, shared knowledge and the best creative resources. They will tailor their approach to each affiliate on a personal level as each affiliateâs needs are different based on territory, market and positioning of their sites.
Q: Who is your business idol?
A: Tom Kerridge â A professional chef and owner of a two Michelin star restaurant in the UK. He is a great example of someone who never let working hard block his path to success and never let success prevent him from working hard.
Q: If you could work for any other business, which would it be?
A: I’ve always thought that the two greatest industries to be involved in would be gambling or music, so I’m pretty happy where I am now. If pushed, maybe a bar owner on a paradise island?
Q: What is the best piece of advice youâve ever been given?
A: âDonât waste your time on jealousy - sometimes youâre ahead, sometimes youâre behind, the race is long and in the end, itâs only with yourself.â Although this wasn’t an original piece of advice I think it’s one that motivated me the most.
Q: What is top of your bucket list?
A: To visit all 30 Major League Baseball parks. I am a massive baseball fan and living in the UK makes it that much tougher to get to the stadiums, but I do my best.
Q: Which one place would you most like to visit and why?
A: Easter Island. It’s on the other side of the world – a tropical paradise with so much history to explore – fascinating!
Q: What is your favourite way to relax?
A: I like to relax by running as it allows me to mentally unwind.
Q: What is your favourite book?
A: Games People Play by Eric Berne.
Q: If you could have any super power for a day, what would it be and why?
A: I would love to have the ability to produce a force field. Getting on the Jubilee Line at 7:30am and having my own personal space would be amazing. Itâs the little victories that can make your day.
Q: Which three people would you invite to your dream dinner party?
A: Tom Kerridge, Roy Halladay and Friedrich Nietzsche. Itâs an obscure mix, perhaps, but I think Iâd enjoy the conversation.
