Fresh 8 Gaming hires Perform Group's Sarah McChesney
EGR DM speaks to Fresh 8’s recently appointed commercial manager to discuss her new role in more detail
EGR Digital Marketing (EGR DM): What does Fresh 8 do?
Sarah McChesney (SM):Â Fresh 8 provide operators and publishers with an intelligent ad tech platform. We turn everyday content in to meaningful sports related terms and then connect those terms with valuable bet data and odds to provide each user with a contextual, bespoke ad. Everything we do is designed to increase gambling operators’ customer acquisition and improve retention, while allowing publishers to own and sell premium, native in-content ad positions.
EGR DM: Why did you join?
SM:Â I was first introduced to the Fresh 8 product at an industry event 18 months ago and was immediately impressed by the innovative nature of the tech and the quick growth the company were achieving with operators and publishers globally. Working with the product at Perform Group on their global sports portals reaffirmed for me that the product was something special, so when the opportunity came about to move over to Fresh 8 it was a no brainer. The technology, the people and the vision of what senior management want Fresh 8 to become are something I believe passionately about, so I’m looking forward to being a key part of this next growth period.
EGR DM: What are the challenges of the business?
SM:Â Although we’re a start-up with some big customers – like Bwin, Sky Bet and Perform Group – there is a lot of awareness to build across the operator and publisher space, so we’ve got a lot of hard work to do. The product speaks for itself but there’s always the challenge as a new player in the market, of getting key decision makers to buy in to what we’re trying to achieve and taking the journey with us to prove how successful the product can truly be across desktop, mobile and app platforms.
EGR DM: Where are the opportunities for Fresh 8?
SM:Â The gambling market is extremely competitive. but we know our tech can be used to provide operators with a product that lets them standout from the crowd and improve the ROI on their affiliate/media partnerships. Although based in the UK we are operating around the world and are looking to expand our network of global publishers and operators, consistently improving the efficiency and performance of advertising for both.
EGR DM: Where are the opportunities for you?
SM:Â There’s a lot of work to be done at Fresh 8 in growing brand awareness, building out a global portfolio of operators and publishers and new product development, so I’m excited to get stuck in at this busy time, to play a key part in this next growth stage of the business.
EGR DM: How are you going to make a difference at Fresh 8?
SM:Â I’m looking to bring some better and less techno Spotify playlists to the office, that’s the first task! In all seriousness I’m looking to bring a blend of operator, media and affiliate experience to Fresh 8. From spending the early part of my career at 188BET focusing on UK and Asian markets from an affiliate perspective and then for the last few years, immersing myself in the sports media world at Perform, securing and managing global operator deals across owned and network publisher sites, I’m hoping to bring the expertise needed to drive Fresh 8 forward to the next level of global growth.
