Matchbook gets personal with Apple Watch app
Operator says product is industry's first predictive and personalised smartwatch app
Matchbook has rolled out a new Apple Watch sports betting exchange app which it says is the first to take a predictive and personalised approach to smartwatch sports betting.
The product is powered by a personalised algorithm which the firm said would create a “highly personalised experience”, including recommended markets unique to each user.
Early releases from operators on the Watch have struggled with the question of how much content should be migrated to Watch apps.
Operators, including William Hill and Unibet, have tended to favour a stripped down approach with reduced functionality.
But Matchbook has opted to take a full-function approach with its app, which was developed in-house, including the ability to place and adjust back or lay bets from the user’s wrist.
“Our customers tend to be both tech savvy and early adopters of new gadgets,” Mark Brosnan, Matchbook CEO, said. “As such, we have developed what we believe to be the first personalised betting experience on your wrist.”
“This gives bettors the opportunity to make and adjust their bets on the go, without having to pull out their smartphones. We’re always looking for new ways to interact with our customers and are very excited to be delivering them a tailored experience on a very personal device,” he added.
