Sky Bet and OpenBet agree new platform deal
Leeds-headquartered operator will continue to utilise OpenBet's sports betting platform for a further five years
Sky Betting & Gaming has a signed a new five-year contract extension with its core sports betting platform provider OpenBet, the two companies announced today.
The new deal will see OpenBet continue to power the operator’s online and mobile sportsbook from one centrally managed back-office, with the operator maintaining creative control of the customer interface.
Sky Betting & Gaming CEO Richard Flint said OpenBet had played a key role in the operator’s success having worked with the technology supplier since its launch in 2001.
“OpenBet has been an integral component of our business since day one,” Flint said.
“Against ever-changing regulatory frameworks and fast-moving technological developments they continue to deliver,” he added.
News of the deal comes after OpenBet recently kicked off a new recruitment drive in November with plans to add approximately 60 new roles to its current 600 headcount across offices in London, Athens, Quebec and Sydney.
“The fact that Sky Betting & Gaming has renewed for an additional five years is a statement of their firm commitment to OpenBet,” Jeremy Thompson-Hill, CEO of OpenBet, said.
“The deal reflects both the confidence Sky Betting & Gaming has in our ability to support their growth and the outstanding relationship maintained by all of those working on their development team,” he added.
