Spelinspektionen signs integrity agreement with Sportradar
Swedish regulator looks to strengthen its ability to combat match-fixing through arrangement with sports data giant
The Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) has entered into an agreement with Sportradar Integrity Services to help spot potential match-fixing.
This partnership will see Sportradar monitor certain sports from a betting perspective and notify the regulator in the event of a suspicion of match-fixing.
The deal will also mean that the SGA can purchase risk assessments from the sports data giant. The risk assessments assess the degree of risk of manipulation in a specific sport.
Investigator at the SGA, Daniel Frisö-Grön, said: “Through the information we will receive via Sportradar, we increase our knowledge of match-fixing that we can use in, among other things, our regulatory work.”
It also gives us opportunities to expand the exchange of information with sports and the police within the framework of our collaboration against match-fixing.” Frisö-Grön added.
This is not the first partnership that Sportradar has struck in the region. In March 2021, Sportradar Integrity Services signed an agreement with the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) to monitor and safeguard the integrity of its domestic football competitions.
Earlier this month, Sportradar published its annual integrity report which found a record-breaking 903 suspicious matches had been detected in 2021.
