QPR joins forces with GAMSTOP to promote safer gambling
Championship club to devote matchday resources and programme ad space to UK self-exclusion scheme
Queens Park Rangers (QPR) has linked up with UK self-exclusion scheme provider GAMSTOP.
The partnership will allow the Championship club to raise awareness of various tools and resources for fans who wish to self-exclude from online gambling.
As part of the agreement, QPR will provide dedicated matchday and programme advertising space to GAMSTOP.
Club staff and QPR in the Community volunteers will also be trained on the GAMSTOP platform and other responsible gambling resources.
“We are delighted to enter into a partnership with GAMSTOP, the free, UK-wide self-exclusion scheme that enables gamblers to put blocks in place to restrict their online gambling activities,” said QPR commercial director Euan Inglis.
“Our current betting partner TebWin is fully integrated with GAMSTOP and will work with the club with this initiative. We are very mindful of getting the message across about responsible gambling,” Inglis added
Over 240,000 players are registered with GAMSTOP. Users can choose a self-exclusion period of six months, one year, or five years.
Anybody who contacts the service is referred to specialist advisers if they, or a loved one, need additional help and support with gambling-related issues.
“QPR have been incredibly proactive in launching this partnership with GAMSTOP and we are delighted that the club will be using its extensive platform to raise awareness of the tools that are available to those who may be experiencing gambling-related harm,” said GAMSTOP CEO Fiona Palmer.
“We are proud to be partnered with QPR, and firmly believe that by working together to highlight the crucial resources that are available, we can make a positive impact on people’s lives,” she added.
QPR’s London rivals Crystal Palace provided a Premier League presence for GAMSTOP via a similar partnership signed in March 2021.
