Dutch regulator inks MoU agreement with UK Gambling Commission
KSA chair René Jansen says international cooperation will send a “clear signal” to online gaming providers
The Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) to support each other with regulatory tasks.
The deal will include the exchange of general information and a discussion over best practice procedures.
The regulators will also share specific information in the areas of enforcement and licensing while striving for a common goal to combat crime, protect players and prevent gambling addiction.
KSA chairman René Jansen signed the agreement for the Dutch regulator, while deputy CEO Sarah Gardner put pen to paper for the UKGC.
Jansen said: ‘Such a Memorandum of Understanding forms a good basis for sharing knowledge, collaboration and a smooth exchange of information.
“A clear signal is also given to providers of games of chance that cooperation is taking place at an international level.
“Online games of chance move across borders and that is why it is important for supervisors to work together,” he added.
The KSA has previously struck similar MoU agreements with regulators in France, Malta, Sweden and Belgium.
