Gambling support organisations team up on triple-layer prevention campaign
GamCare, GAMSTOP and Gamban unveil new TalkBanStop initiative to aid at-risk gamblers
GamCare, GAMSTOP and Gamban have launched a new campaign offering at-risk gamblers a triple-step solution to help prevent gambling-related harm.
Dubbed TalkBanStop, the campaign aims to encourage players to seek help and provides access to specific services run by each of the companies.
It will signpost individuals to GamCare’s National Gambling Helpline, which is available to individuals 24/7, 365 days a year and is staffed by trained support advisers.
As part of the agreement, Gamban blocking software is now available free to anyone calling the National Gambling Helpline, or to anyone who uses GamCare’s support and treatment services.
For those seeking to self-exclude, the TalkBanStop campaign will feature links to the GAMSTOP self-exclusion service, membership of which is currently mandatory for every licensed UK gambling operator.
“We know that lockdown has been a troubling time for many people,” a spokesperson for the campaign said.
“To help people struggling to control their gambling, and their loved ones, our new campaign TalkBanStop is encouraging people to make the most of free tools and support that are available this spring,” the spokesperson added.
