GambleAware ignites new phase of Bet Regret campaign ahead of new season
Charity inks safer gambling partnerships with new advocacy groups targeting increased campaign exposure in 2020-21
GambleAware has readied the next wave of its Bet Regret safer gambling campaign after striking RG-led partnerships with two Scottish advocacy groups.
The charity’s new partners include health advocacy organisation MAN v FAT and Supporters Direct Scotland, having already renewed deals with existing partners the Football Supporters Association and the Scottish Football Supporters Association.
As part of the new agreements, Bet Regret campaign materials and messaging will appear on the Supporters Direct Scotland, MAN v FAT and Scottish Football Supporters Association websites.
GambleAware’s existing partnership with the Football Supporters Association has seen the pair work together on several activities designed to promote safer gambling during the previous football season.
MAN v FAT, which operates a weight loss programme for men and includes football leagues in more than 80 locations throughout the UK, will train the coaches to inform and talk to members about how to avoid risky, impulsive bets, with help from GambleAware.
The organisation will also include specific talks on GambleAware and the Bet Regret campaign as part of its ongoing social media video sessions.
GambleAware director of communications Zoe Osmond said partnerships with community-based organisations like these were “vitally important” to the delivery of the Bet Regret message.
“We have chosen to work with these organisations in particular as we are confident they will help us share and promote our campaign message to encourage regular sports bettors to avoid impulsive bets so they can avoid the feeling of Bet Regret,” Osmond added.
