Global Gaming and Videoslots receive Swedish licences
Regulator announces rebrand to coincide with launch of new re-regulated market
Global Gaming and Videoslots have become the latest firms to receive Swedish licences, following successful applications made to the Swedish gambling authority earlier this year.
Five-year betting and gaming licences were awarded to Global Gaming’s subsidiary SafeEnt limited, which operates the Ninja Casino and SpelLandet brands.
Global Gaming CEO Joacim Möller welcomed the licence award, adding: “This proves that our business model works at the same time as the license allows us to continue focusing on our largest market.”
Fellow operator Videoslots received a shorter two-year casino licence, with CEO Alexander Stevendahl highlighting the potential of the new fully-regulated Swedish market.
Stevendahl added: “We are delighted to be taking our unique casino offering to Swedish players and are grateful that the regulator has given us the opportunity.”
Lotteriinspektionen awarded the first sixteen licences for the new re-regulated market last month to operators including Svenska Spel, ATG, bet365, Betsson and Kindred.
The regulator also confirmed that it will rebrand to Spelinspektionen from 1 January 2019.
The rebrand is part of the wider re-regulation of the Swedish gambling market, and will feature a new logo developed in collaboration with Swedish marketing agency FamiljenPangea.
As part of the new licence rules, this logo must be displayed on all licensed operator sites.
