Online casino boosts Danish gross gaming revenues in Q3
Mixed fortunes for online and land-based gaming during the quarter
Danish online casino gross gaming revenues grew by 19.9% year-on-year to DKK544.7m during Q3 2018 (£64.9m), according to the latest market figures released by Danish regulator Spillemyndigheden.
Online sports betting revenues increased by double-digits during the quarter, rising by 13.5% to DKK431m (£51.3m), 66% of all betting revenues.
Combined GGR for all verticals grew by 8.8% year-on-year during the quarter, jumping to DKK1624.2m (£193.6m) from a previous Q3 2017 high of DKK1,481.1m (£176.6m).
Single player casino games dominate online casino revenues in Q3, accounting for 93.4% of revenue or DKK508.7m (£60.6m), while multiplayer online casino games account for 6.6% of revenues, or DKK35.9m (£4.2m).
Online slots remain the most popular method of online casino gaming, accounting for 63.1% of market share, followed by roulette (14%) and blackjack (11.7%).
The number of people registering for ROFUS, the Danish self-exclusion scheme, grew by 4,595 during the quarter when compared to the same period of 2017.
