Poll: Can LeoVegas find success in sports betting?
Casino-focused operator recently launched its first betting product in partnership with Kambi
LeoVegas entered unchartered territory last week when the operator made its first shift away from casino with the launch of an online sportsbook.
The Kambi-powered sports betting product was rolled out ahead of Euro 2016 across both mobile and desktop in the UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands and Canada.
The publicly-listed operator has achieved phenomenal success in the online casino vertical in recent years, with its recent Q1 financial results revealing an 86% year-on-year increase in revenues for the first three months of 2016.
With a proven product and platform supplier in Kambi, should the firm be able to transfer its CRM skills to sports betting the chances of replicating its current casino success would appear compelling.
Upon launch, the firm said it wanted to offer “the market’s fastest and most engaging mobile sports betting experience” and would be more than just an add-on for casino players.
However, LeoVegas will be operating within fiercely competitive markets against established sports betting brands which can afford to spend the big bucks and perhaps out-manoeuvre smaller operators on the marketing front.
In addition to sportsbook giants such as William Hill and bet365, the casino-focused business will also be competing with fellow egaming operators including Rank and Mr Green, which are both set to enter the space in the near future with similar Kambi products.
With this in mind, this week’s eGaming Review poll asks whether LeoVegas can find similar success in sports betting as it has in online casino? Have your say on the right hand side of the page.
