Richard Flint joins Senet Group board
Sky Betting & Gaming chief executive named an independent director of the UK's self-regulatory gambling organisation
Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) CEO Richard Flint has joined the Senet Group board, three months after his company became a member of the self-regulatory body.
Flint was today named an independent director of the Group alongside former NHS professional, Stephen Thornton, who previously worked in senior roles at major healthcare delivery and regulatory organisations.
Chair of the Senet Group, Wanda Goldwag, welcomed the two new members and was particularly pleased to have appointed the CEO of an online-only operator.
“It is really valuable to have someone with Stephen’s strong health sector and operational background join the board at this time to help us in our endeavour to reduce gambling-related harm,” she said.
“I am also delighted that someone who represents online-only gambling is joining the board as we seek to promote online codes of conduct,” Goldwag added.
The Senet Group’s board now consists of five independent directors including Goldwag, Flint, and Thornton as well as Suzanne McCarthy and Gillian Wilmot, who were both appointed in January 2015.
Earlier this year, SB&G became the first online-only gambling operator to become a member of the UK gambling industry’s self-regulatory body after joining the likes of retail giants William Hill and Ladbrokes.
