GVC eyes additional "tier one" B2B deals
COO Shay Segev tells EGR he is "looking forward" to adding more operators to its bwin platform following Betfred deal
GVC Holdings is confident of completing additional B2B deals with tier one operators after finalising its “win-win” platform partnership with Betfred, according to the firm’s chief operating officer (COO).
Shay Segev (pictured), who was appointed COO of GVC earlier this year, said the London-listed company’s B2B arm was one area of the business it expects to grow in the coming months as its integration with bwin.party continues.
Yesterday GVC announced a 10-year deal with Betfred which will see the Warrington-based bookmaker migrate its online sportsbook and gaming business to GVC’s proprietary bwin technology.
And speaking to eGaming Review this morning, Segev said more deals with some of the industry’s biggest operators were likely in the future.
“I’m definitely looking forward to signing more tier one B2B deals – although maybe not immediately,” he said.
“As we move on we can continue with the integration of GVC and bwin, and then Betfred, and I’m sure as we move along more deals will come,” Segev added.
The migration of Betfred from GTECH to the bwin platform is unlikely to occur before the end of the year, Segev confirmed, but once completed will enable Betfred to segment players and personalise its product.
Segev also said GVC Holdings would look to help Betfred leverage the omni-channel potential of its 1,300 retail betting shops once the opportunity arises.
“Betfred is a very unique proposition as it has a very strong brand in the UK, a large retail business and they will need to take advantage of their strong retail presence,” he said.
“If the opportunity comes and Betfred is interested in expanding it further then we would certainly be interested,” Segev added.
