Betcris onboards industry veteran as new casino director
Latam-facing casino and sports betting firm bags former William Hill and GiG head Lucas Lebleu
Betcris has appointed former GiG head of sales for Latam and Europe Lucas Lebleu as its new casino director. Lebleu joins the Costa Rica-based operator from Skywind Group where he served as senior sales director for nearly two years. Before that, Lebleu had an 18-month stint at GiG as head of sales for Europe and Latam. Lebleu also spent more than four years with William Hill, initially as a French country manager before becoming a Spanish territory manager. He has also held roles at technology provider Probability and IBM. His remit will be to implement the operator’s casino strategy which includes operations, promotion and marketing. He will also oversee responsible gaming activity. Lebleu entered the igaming space almost at its inception, starting out at the now defunct BetonSports. He spent eight years in Costa Rica with BetonSports between January 1998 and April 2006. His new role takes him back to Costa Rica and Betcris is hoping that his “proven track record and strong commercial focus will prove to be significant assets”. Lebleu added: “I’ve known Betcris since I started to work in Costa Rica a quarter of a century ago and I’m pleased to have reached an agreement. “In my opinion Betcris is one of the most respected brands in Latin America, with a retail and online presence in the majority of the Latam countries.” Betcris recently signed a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Liga MX side FC Juarez.
