Paf promotes from within to appoint new CTO
Operator bumps Fredrik Wiklund up to C-level after more than two years as head of IT
Paf has promoted current head of IT operations Fredrik Wiklund to become the operator’s new chief technology officer (CTO).
Wiklund originally joined the Åland Islands-based firm in October 2019 as head of IT operations, infrastructure and services and will now take the step up to C-level.
In his new role he will be responsible for implementing Paf’s technology strategy to support the firm’s overarching objectives.
He will also oversee system infrastructure and develop IT security failure and disaster plans, as well as monitor regulatory standards.
Wiklund became CTO on 25 January and will be based at Paf’s head office in Mariehamn. He will report into Paf CPO Sara Björk-Södergård.
Speaking to EGR, Wiklund said: “It’s with great excitement that I step into the role of CTO at Paf. Working with technology has always had a big place in my heart; it’s what drives and motivates me every day to do my very best.”
Björk-Södergård added: “I’m very happy to appoint Fredrik Wiklund to the role of CTO for Paf. Fredrik has successfully led Paf’s IT operations department for many years and will continue to do so as part of his new role. Fredrik is a great fit for the CTO role.”
