GiG recruits new head of sports product
Malta-based supplier commits to sports offering with hire of former William Hill and Betsson product exec
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has hired Spinola Gaming CTO Kurt Carabott as its new head of product for sports. Carabott joined the Malta-based igaming supplier on 8 June following a five-month spell at Spinola, where he worked alongside a team of engineers to design architecture software solutions. Prior to Spinola Gaming, Carabott spent three and a half years at William Hill as a sportsbook product owner and product manager. He joined Hills in 2017 from Betsson Group, where he spent more than four years, latterly as a technical project manager for the operator’s sportsbook technologies. Carabott will be based in Malta in his new role and will report into GiG director of product and design Ashley-Christian Hardy. He will be responsible for the end-to-end product development of the GiG Sports platform, a B2B sportsbook and trading solution for operator partners. Hardy said of the appointment: “Kurt brings experience from both Betsson and William Hill/Mr Green and will help us to build and execute a more granular product strategy for our Sports offering, while helping us to find solid market fit and increase sales of this product.” GiG further reshuffled its executive board in April as CCO Ben Clemes became MD for the GiG Platform division.
