Kindred Group nets new head of sportsbook

Kindred Group has promoted Andreas Reimblad to the position of group head of sportsbook. Reimblad takes over from previous incumbent Erik Backlund, who became group chief product officer in October 2020. He will also report into Backlund. Reimblad began his new job on 28 January and will be responsible for leading Kindred’s global sportsbook organisation and the products within the sports betting portfolio. His journey at Kindred Group began in 2008 with a customer service role at Unibet. He then progressed through the ranks to become head of bingo, before joining IGT for a brief spell in 2012. He has been based in Kindred’s sportsbook department for more than eight years, most recently as head of sportsbook product management and operations.

“I am extremely excited to get the opportunity to lead this talented team spread across the globe and with local footprints in so many different markets,” said Reimblad. “We are leaving a year with a lot of up and downs, but both myself and the team are thrilled to enter what looks to be an amazing year of sport on paper. “It is an exciting time for the group and for sportsbook, with opportunities in US, a focus on product development and a never-ending evolution around data,” he added.
