MansionBet nets Bristol City sponsorship

MansionBet has agreed to become the new official betting partner and principal sponsor of EFL Championship side Bristol City FC, replacing online casino operator Dunder. As part of the deal, the MansionBet logo will appear on the front of the Robins’ home and away kits for the next season as the club chases promotion to the Premier League. However, Bristol City has said MansionBet logos will not appear on any youth kits, as part of the operator’s focus on responsible gambling. The partnership also includes fan engagement activities, including prize giveaways, fan engagement activities and chances to win money-can’t-buy competition prizes. Mansion Group has a long history of partnerships with football clubs, previously serving as shirt sponsors of Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth, as well as the official betting partners of Manchester City and Newcastle United.

Mansion head of integrated marketing Dana Bocker said the partnership with Bristol City showed the firm’s “continued focus and support” for the UK market. “Bristol City’s proud history within the English league and their growth over the last couple of years makes this an appealing partnership. We’re looking forward to collaborating with the club to engage with fans over the coming season and increasing our awareness locally,” she added. The Robins finished the 2019/20 EFL season in 12^th place but were in contention for the play-offs for much of the season. Bristol Sport Group head of commercial Caroline Herbert said the club was delighted to partner with a company with a long history of sponsorships of football clubs and highlighted Mansion’s various accolades on maintaining responsible gambling. “With more than a decade of industry experience and a long tradition of sport sponsorship, they bring a huge amount of expertise and creativity to this partnership,” Herbert added. MansionBet becomes the latest operator to sponsor a football club for next season, following Premier League returnees Leeds United’s deal with Asia-focused SBOTOP earlier this month. Elsewhere, Swansea City has ended its sponsorship relationship with sports betting firm YoBet, instead agreeing a shirt sponsorship deal with Swansea University for the 2020/21 EFL season. The move follows the club pledging to heavily restrict the use of gambling-related branding in September 2019 as a means of increasing supporter engagement.
