Finance industry veteran Adrian Marsh to join as CFO and will be appointed as an executive director later this year
William Hill has confirmed the appointment of Adrian Marsh as its new chief financial officer, replacing current CFO Ruth Prior.
Marsh will also join the London-listed bookmaker’s board of directors as an executive director later this year.
Marsh currently serves as CFO for international packaging firm DS Smith, having occupied the role for the last seven years and overseen the business’ transition from a FTSE 250 to a FTSE 100 company.
Prior to this, he was group director of tax, treasury and corporate finance of UK supermarket chain Tesco and has held CFO roles at AstraZeneca and glass manufacturing firm Pilkington.
In his new role, Marsh will report directly to William Hill CEO Ulrik Bengtsson.

William Hill CEO Ulrik Bengtsson said he was delighted to welcome someone of Marsh’s experience to the operator.
“As a proven CFO of a FTSE-listed company with M&A, deal execution and multi-sector finance experience in US and European markets, he will be able to make a significant contribution to William Hill in the enablement of the strategy and is a great addition to the team.”
The departure of current CFO Ruth Prior was confirmed last month. Former Worldpay CFO Prior will leave to join London-based equipment testing firm Element Materials Technology.
Speaking about his new role, Marsh said: “I am extremely excited to be joining William Hill at such a key time in the company’s history, and look forward to supporting Ulrik and the rest of the board in delivering their growth plans for the future.”
