Cherry affiliate makes Americas acquisitions
Game Lounge has acquired the BetNJ.com and OnlineCasino.mx domains in New Jersey and Mexico push
Cherry-owned affiliate Game Lounge has moved into North America and LatAm through the acquisition of web domains BetNJ.com and OnlineCasino.mx.
The subsidiary, which reported a rise in revenues of 89% to SEK56m in Q1, plans to establish operations in New Jersey, as the market gains rapid traction.
OnlineCasino.mx will also give Game Lounge a foot into the Mexican market which is valued at approximately €850m.
“Both of these premium domains are well placed, and are extremely intuitive,” CEO of Game Lounge, Jonas Cederholm, said.
“The driving force is New Jersey, and the state has now legalised betting on sports and we see great opportunities to expand our model to help players find the game options that will be offered to customers in states that already have laws in place.
“The proposed regulation of the Mexican gaming market makes us positive about our opportunities to take a strong position in a new market for us.”
Cherry will report its Q2 figures next week, in the first results presentation since CEO Anders Holmgren was sacked amid insider trading allegations.
