Colossus eyes US expansion with first fantasy pools

Colossus Bets has announced a new partnership with US fantasy platform Pivit to help Colossus develop and distribute NFL fantasy betting pools.

The deal marks Colossus’ first move into fantasy pool betting, with punters asked to pick the players with the most production on a given NFL week, with “lottery-size prize guarantees”.

The roll-out will begin in Q3, with a US focus according to Colossus.

The pools will also have cash-out technology, which Colossus has patent protection for in the US, and crowdfunded Syndicate tickets.

“We are very pleased to partner with Pivit to develop and take to market our first fantasy jackpots,” said Colossus Bets COO, David O’Reilly.

“While liquidity in our football pools has gone from strength to strength, we have been actively working towards the diversification of our product to appeal to new audiences and geographies.

“This move has a clear US orientation but we are also seeing interest from other parts of our network.”

Pivit is a gaming and fantasy platform that provides jackpot-style products with a focus on the US.

Pivit’s acting marketing and business development officer, Robert S. Miller, added: “This is an exciting development, which allows us to add to our suite of existing sweepstakes products, by adding a popular fantasy concept and big sports jackpots, which are highly engaging to a US customer.

“Having strong distribution from day 1 adds to the excitement and we expect many players to be excited to engage in this product, given the large potential prize pools.”

Pivit said it has a “significant digital footprint” with a potential reach of three million customers.

In related news Colossus also launched its racing pools for the first time today, although its expected partnership with racing tracks via britbet is still up in the air, as the tracks negotiate with Alizeti about creating one pool of liquidity with the Tote.
