Betfair recruits David Haye as brand ambassador
The former WBA heavyweight champion has signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Betfair ahead of his rematch with Tony Bellew this Saturday
Betfair has unveiled David Haye as its latest brand ambassador in the build-up to his heavyweight boxing match with Tony Bellew in London on Saturday.
The two-year partnership expands Betfair’s association with Haye as the exchange operator already sponsors the Londoner’s promotional company Hayemaker Boxing Promotions.
His ambassadorship was revealed by Betfair on Twitter as the former WBA heavyweight champion gears up to fight Bellew at the 02 Academy on 5 May.

Bellew v Haye 2 is a rematch of last year’s fight when Bellew caused a huge upset by stopping Haye in the 11th round.
“We are looking to increase our footprint within boxing,” said Betfair’s managing director Stephen Mault.
“David’s character and reputation as one of the best heavy cruiserweights to ever fight made him the perfect candidate.
“We’ve enjoyed working with Hayemaker Boxing Promotions and it seemed an obvious choice to extend our sponsorship to David Haye himself,” he added.
Betfair’s foray into boxing saw them strike up a sponsorship deal with former Manchester United footballer Rio Ferdinand in September 2017 for the operator’s Defender to Contender campaign
