Isle of Man names Tony Ure as head of egaming
Ure joins the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development having previously held roles at Grosvenor Casinos, Ladbrokes and IGT
The Isle of Man Department of Economic Development has appointed industry consultant Tony Ure as its new head of egaming, it was announced this morning.
Ure joins the Department of Economic Development having previously held roles at a number of companies in the industry, including Grosvenor Casinos and Ladbrokes’ egaming team in Gibraltar.
He later spent 10 years as head of poker operations for IGT before becoming a consultant to the gaming industry in early 2016.
“Tony has spent over 30 years working for some of the most recognisable names in the industry,” Jonathan Mills, director of e-Business at the department of economic development, said.
Mills added: “His extensive global experience in launching and running products and platforms across online and land-based operations will undoubtedly help drive continued growth in the Isle of Man’s egaming sector, which currently represents around 20% of the Island’s economy.”
Ure replaces former head of egaming Mark Robson who left the Isle of Man government earlier this year having originally joined in April 2015.
“I am looking forward to working with the egaming team,” Ure said.
“It is an exciting time to join and continue the growth of the Isle of Man as the premier egaming jurisdiction.”
