Tabcorp signs digital commission deal with NSW hotels
Five-year agreement will see Tabcorp offer hotels with commission from in-venue mobile bets for the first time
Tabcorp has agreed a five-year deal with the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) to enable its New South Wales (NSW) venues to receive commission on in-venue mobile bets for the first time.
The agreement will see the Sydney-listed gambling giant provide the AHA’s 1,116 NSW hotels with the same commission on bets placed using the TAB app as over-the-counter in cash.
The digital model has been operating since November last year and also enables pubTABs to benefit from ongoing commissions from any customers they sign up to a TAB account.
“Having a bet in a pub is an Australian social tradition and this partnership helps us and our venues to deliver the best wagering experience,” Tabcorp CEO, David Attenborough, said.
“At the same time, we are making sure pubs benefit no matter how customers choose to bet within the venue.”
According to a statement released today, NSW hotels account for AU$1.6bn in annual TAB turnover.
AHA NSW CEO John Whelan added: “We’re thrilled to partner with Tabcorp for a further five years.
“We’re particularly excited with the direction Tabcorp is heading with digital wagering in PubTABs and we’re looking forward to the roll-out of new hotel products and technology over the next five years.”
