Coral to stream Cheltenham races in live casino
One of operator’s live casino rooms will be rebranded ‘The Cheltenham Room’ for the duration of the four-day horseracing event
Coral is to stream Cheltenham Festival races live via a rebranded live casino room, as the firm looks to tap into the cross-over between gaming and the iconic horseracing festival.
The Cheltenham Room will run for the duration of the four-day event and feature dealers dressed in race goers outfits alongside racing expert Mark Grantham, who’ll be giving players up-to-the second updates on upcoming races.
The table will also offer special prizes and giveaways, including free bets to those who place bets on roulette numbers that correspond with the race card number of winning horses.
The Ladbrokes Coral-owned brand said its live casino would be the first to stream a live sporting event, while Antonio Ruggeri, Coral live casino product manager, said the move would enable it to cater for those who enjoy both casino and sports.
“Our customers are not only multi-channel but they are increasingly interested in both sports and gaming, they want to go straight to the heart of the action and so it’s key that we introduce new ways to play – Cheltenham Live Roulette does just that,” Ruggeri said.
The Cheltenham Room will be available to players across desktop, tablet and mobile.
Despite a number of big-name horse withdrawals, the bookmaking industry is gearing up for the biggest ever Cheltenham Festival, with Ladbrokes Coral estimating that £300m worth of bets will be placed during the week.
