Rank agrees Playtech Bingo renewal
Bingo and games partnership will run for a further three years following fresh deal
The Rank Group has extended its partnership with supplier giant Playtech, in a move which will see the operator’s Mecca brand receive exclusive bingo and games content for the next three years.
Playtech Bingo will retain its position as the exclusive provider of bingo and games for Mecca, while the extension also covers the provision of dedicated content development to give the bingo brand further product differentiation.
The deal strengthens the long-term relationship between the two parties, which first partnered back in 2006, and one which Rank group director Colin Cole-Johnson said was integral to the firm.
“It is a suite of products our customers know and love, and this has been an important partnership for Mecca since 2006, so naturally we are pleased that an agreement has been reached to develop this further,” Cole-Johnson said.
Playtech VP of operations, Daniel Phillips, said the new Mecca deal reflected the positive performance of its bingo network.
“The network is performing well with stakes and active players at their highest ever levels and our licensees have made a great start to 2017,” Phillips said.
“Mecca is one of those so we are therefore very pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with the Rank Group and our collaborative approach will help drive their bingo business into the next decade and beyond.”
Last week Rank revealed bingo revenues were up 3% year-on-year in Q2 with its wider digital business up 11%.
