William Hill nets Everton betting partnership deal
Two-year agreement will see the bookmaker obtain in-stadium advertising opportunities and offer Toffees fans exclusive odds
William Hill has signed a two-year deal with Everton to become the Premier League football club’s official European betting partner, the bookmaker announced today.
The UK bookmaker’s brand name will now appear on the club’s LED screens and interview backdrops at Goodison Park, and will also offer Everton fans exclusive odds on a range of football markets.
The deal, which lasts until the end of the 2017-18 season, sees William Hill replace rival firm Coral as the Merseyside team’s European partner following the end of a two-year deal.
Alex O’Shaughnessy, chief marketing officer at William Hill, said: “Everton is one of the most iconic clubs in Britain and it’s great to be joining the Blues at this exciting point in their history.
“We can’t wait to start working with the club and we look forward to offering the millions of Evertonians a fun and innovative betting service across all of retail and digital channels.”
In other William Hill news, on Friday the operator signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Scottish FA, covering betting integrity throughout Scottish football.
The MoU will include an exchanging of information about suspected fraudulent betting activities, including match fixing and insider betting.
“We are proud of our association with Scottish football and we are committed to helping the Scottish FA safeguard the integrity of the game in Scotland,” Bill South, director of security and community affairs at William Hill, said.
“This MoU sends out a zero tolerance message to people contemplating contravening the Scottish FA’s rules on betting and match fixing,” he added.
