Ladbrokes Coral makes senior sportsbook appointments
Operator also hires new general counsel as merged firm continues to build management team
Ladbrokes Coral has appointed two new sportsbook directors with Ladbrokes’ Glynn Carroll and Coral’s Jamie Crossfield both landing senior roles at the recently combined firm, EGR has learned.
Crossfield has been named director of trading operations and Carroll handed a director of trading performances role within the newly merged sportsbook division, which is based in Stratford.
Both men had been director of trading operations at their respective legacy firms and will now report into trading director Dave Brown, who EGR revealed had secured his position in September.
EGR has also learned that the combined firm will have a new general counsel, with Lindsay Beardsell set to join in early 2017.
Beardsell, who trained at Magic Circle law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, is currently group general counsel at Supergroup, which owns the Superdry clothing brand.
The appointments come as Ladbrokes Coral CEO Jim Mullen continues to build his management team following the merger, which completed on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for Ladbrokes Coral confirmed the recent appointments and said the firm was continuing to progress on the development of its new organisational structure.
The merger will lead to a reduction in London headquarter headcount of around 700 and EGR understands the bulk of staffers should learn their fate in December.
