New affiliate categories at eGR Awards

Four new categories for the gaming industry’s top affiliates have been added to this year’s sixth annual eGR Operator Awards.

The additional affiliate categories include: gaming community site of the year; gaming review site of the year; gaming comparison site of the year and innovative gaming site of the year.

Seb Timpson, publishing director of eGaming Review, said: “These new awards reflect the contribution of the top affiliates to the industry’s development. We recognise that for many operators, affiliate lead generation is a key part of the marketing mix and that the role of the best affiliates is becoming more like that of a marketing partner.

“The judges will be looking for a clear strategy, good execution and innovation within the three main strategy types of community sites, comparison sites and review sites, as well as a special award for the affiliate that has shown the most innovation in 2010,” he said.

This year will be the sixth annual eGR Operator Awards, which reward the top performing operators, and now affiliates, in the industry. The event will take place at The Artillery Garden at the HAC in London on Wednesday 24 November.

Timpson explained: “Entries are welcome from gaming sites operating in any vertical, and we are not looking just to reward the biggest affiliates, entrepreneurialism and a professional approach are attributes that the judges will also be looking for. We hope these awards will be a benchmark for affiliates, and a badge of achievement that affiliates will be proud to shout about to their users and partners.”

“With the event expected to be sold out again this year with 800 people coming to the dinner, it will be a great night and we look forward to seeing the best of the best gathered to celebrate with their colleagues and peers within this exciting industry,” Timpson added.
