The Poker Channel has expanded its reach into Mexico with the launch of a Spanish-language offering in the country on cable channels Cablevision, Cablecom, Megacable, Cablemas and Telecable. This follows the channel’s launch in Argentina in June. The Gaming Media Group-owned channel has also increased its distribution in Eastern Europe via deals with UPC Direct in Hungary and the Czech Republic, Focusat in Romania and Vodafone in Portugal, making it available to more than 30 million subscribers in 32 countries.
Lottomatica‘s subsidiary GTech Global Services Corporation has signed a 10-year contract with Shenzhen Welfare Lottery Centre (SZWLC). GTech will provide software and marketing services and begin selling online lottery games for the Chinese lottery company. SZWLC currently operates lottery games in Shenzhen, China, and has the option to extend the 10-year contract by two 18-month periods. The deal commences in May 2011. GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel said: “This deeper relationship in Shenzhen is strategically important for GTECH as we look to further expand our footprint in China.”
Portsmouth Football Club has partnered with Genting Alderney to launch new online casino and poker rooms. The partnership will raise money for a number of local charities, with a percentage of all revenues going to good causes.
Spanish operator NouBet has launched using software provided by EveryMatrix. This includes the OddsMatrix sportsbook and the GamMatrix gaming management and payment processing platform. NouBet will also use casino software from NetEnt, poker from the Cake Network and Bluff21 multiplayer blackjack from New Deal Gaming.
