Bwin has launched a real-money live betting application in Apple’s iTunes store, the Austrian operator announced this morning.
The Austrian giant follows operators including Betfair, Tabcorp and Paddy Power in having a full betting App accepted by the US consumer giant for download from its iTunes store by customers in the UK and Austria. Bwin first revealed to eGR in May that it was planning to submit the product to Apple for approval.
The iPhone app will allow Bwin customers with iPhones to place live bets on their iPhone for sports such as football, tennis, Formula 1, American football, ice hockey or skiing.
Berthold Kao, in charge of product management RNG & mobile at Bwin, said: “Thanks to Bwin live, Bwin customers now get to place bets on their iPhone using an intuitive user interface, check on the status of the bets they have placed, and retrieve a detailed list of their bets.”
Another version of the app for the smartphone operating system Android is due to follow this year, said the company.
Bwin also announced today it had released a new mobile web Blackjack application, further establishing the Apple iOS and Android as its “central platforms for betting, casino and games.”
