Stan James hits back in Oddschecker September top 10

STAN JAMES HAS recovered from a four month decline to become the third most popular bookmaker on leading odds comparison site Oddschecker in September, a ranking of the top 10 bookmakers on the site last month has revealed.

William Hill and Paddy Power were knocked from their respective third and fourth positions in September on the site, which boasts more than 600,000 unique users a month, as horse and golf betting helped Stan James to reverse a decline in its share of Oddschecker traffic that has continued since April.

Oddschecker commercial manager Simon Miller said: “The big mover this month was Stan James, which jumped up to third place from fifth last month. A particularly strong performance on Ayr Gold Cup day plus their traditional strength on golf throughout the month was enough to edge them ahead in the race for third.”

Golf is the third most popular sports on Oddschecker, due to its typically wider range of prices. Football is the site’s most popular sport, with the start of English football season seeing Coral re-enter the Oddschecker top 10 in August, in the seventh place position it retained in September.

The top two slots in the ranking, seen by EGRmagazine.com exclusively, remain held by Betfair and Bet365.
