Mahjong Logic signs Hippodrome deal
Deal allows Hippodrome to expand its product range for Asian customers.
Isle of Man-based mahjong software supplier Mahjong Logic has announced a deal to supply London’s Hippodrome Casino with its flagship product for the land-based operator’s egaming site.
“We are excited to bring a strong traditional casino with years of history and experience to the world of online mahjong. Being located next to London’s Chinatown allows our software and the game of mahjong to become even more popular to the ever growing overseas Chinese marketplace and beyond,” Mahjong Logic’s CEO Jonas Alm commented.
The deal follows the signing of a joint venture between Hippodrome and Media Corporation to provide online poker and casino products, overriding Hippodrome’s previous deal with Gaming Media Group’s B2B arm InTouch Gaming, signed in 2010.
Hippodrome’s head of online gaming George Constantinou said that the deal would allow the casino to offer a more complete product offering to its Asian players:
“The Hippodrome Casino will have a large percentage of Chinese and Asian players who all know and love the game of mahjong. Partnering with Mahjong Logic allows us to immediately offer online mahjong to our customer base and leverage their already existing player liquidity pool,” he explained.
The land-based casino is expected to reopen its doors in May this year following a £45m refurbishment.
