Groupe Partouche Q3 shows poor poker performance
Overall revenue drop largely down to 30.7% fall in online poker revenue.
Groupe Partouche has suffered a 7.7% revenue decrease in the third quarter due to disappointing results from its egaming arm’s online poker network.
Revenue decreased from 122.2m for the three months ending 31 July, compared with 112.8m in the corresponding period last year.
Online poker was the worst single performer, with revenue declining 30.7% and Partouche Interactive seeing revenues drop 2.4%. For the three quarters so far this year, Partouche Interactive’s revenue dropped 9.3% from 5.2m to 4.7m.
The results continue a bad month for the operator of the Partouche Poker Tour after marketing director Jean-Jacques Ichai tendered his resignation after it appeared his claims of a 5m guarantee in prize money at the event would not be honoured. However, his resignation was subsequently refused and group president Patrick Partouche announced that the guarantee remained.
