AAMS and ARJEL formalise data exchanges
Regulatory bodies to pay particular attention to the prevention of fraud and money laundering.
The French and Italian egaming regulatory authorities have held a meeting in Rome in which they formalised the mutual exchange of market data.
ARJEL and AAMS met to “further intensify” the cooperation brought about by last June’s agreement, with particular attention paid to “The prevention of problem gambling, the prohibition of access by minors to the game, fraud related to the means of payment and…money laundering.”
The meeting comes just days after the European Commission published its action plan for online gambling, which will focus on matters such as consumer protection and will see regulations which are not compliant with EU law referred to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
This week’s development comes two weeks after ARJEL president Jean-François Vilotte and his Spanish counterpart Enrique Alejo formalised a cooperation agreement between the French regulatory authority and Spain’s regulator the DGOJ, also with the exchange of information at the heart of the relationship.
