Sportech begins search for new FD
Current incumbent Steve Cunliffe will step down on or before 6 March 2013.
Sportech finance director Steve Cunliffe is to step down from his role, the Power 50 operator has announced.
Cunliffe will leave following the publication of Sportech’s full-year results on 6 March next year, or earlier if a successor is found before then.
Search consultancy Odgers Berndtson has been tasked with finding a replacement for the FD, who has been with the company since 2006.
Chief executive Ian Penrose said: “I would like to thank Steve for his contribution to the Group since 2006. He leaves Sportech in a stronger financial position than when he joined and I wish him every success in the future development of his career.”
Cunliffe has more than two decades’ worth of experience in the finance, leisure and manufacturing sectors, with previous roles including finance executive of mechanical and electrical services business Hemway Limited and finance director of Herald Inns and Bars.
His departure follows a positive set of H1 results earlier this year, with revenues increasing year-on-year, while recent months have also seen the operator secure a multi-bank structure agreement which will allow it to invest in growing the business over the coming three years.
The company returned to profit in its results for the 2011 financial year, with the October 2010 acquisition of Scientific Games Racing (now Sportech Racing) contributing to the turnaround.
