Oddschecker: Football helps Betfair extend lead
Operator is now nearly three percentage points clear at the top.
Betfair has opened up a gap of almost three percent at the head of the Oddschecker Top 10, upping its share of market clicks to more than 20% in the process.
The operator saw an improved performance in the football market “ seeing more market clicks than every operator apart from BetVictor “ after losing some ground in September. Its 20.5% overall share now puts it 2.81% ahead of second-place bet365 and represents more than double the total of Paddy Power in third.
Stan James also experienced some success in football, rising to third for the sport following a new marketing campaign, gaining one percentage point overall but remaining in sixth place behind BetVictor.
In the process, the Gibraltar licensee knocked bet365 out of Oddschecker’s top three for football for the first time in the history of the comparison site’s Top 10 rankings.
Further down the table, SkyBet was the only operator to gain a place, rising to ninth after swapping places with Boylesports following a 14.5% market share for entertainment betting, while Ladbrokes continues to fall away in the horse racing market, dipping below 3% for the first time and seeing its overall market share slide below 4% in the process.
